Queen Elizabeth ii of English joins Twitter (Queen sent her first ever tweet)
Queen Elizabeth ii has sent her first tweet on a display table at the Science Museum in London during an information technology gallery opening on October 24th. A tweet containing her personal sign-off, Elizabeth R., was posted on the @BritishMonarchy account at 11:35 a.m. local time. R stands for Regina, or queen. "It is a pleasure to open the Information Age exhibition today at the @ScienceMuseum and I hope people will enjoy visiting. Elizabeth R," read the tweet, which has been retweeted at least 18,000 times as of Friday.
It is not rare that world leaders use SNS, however, those who ever have personal accounts officially in British Monarchy are only two Prince Andrew, Queen’s son, and his daughter Beatrice, so Queen’s tweet has been drawn attention by the public.
Also Queen Elizabeth ii had sent e-mail in 1976 when the term, Internet, was unfamiliar to people. This has known as what Head of the State sent e-mail firstly.
I am not sure if Queen Elizabeth ii will tweet consistently, but I think that celebrities use SNS is a good way it makes them become close with the public.
