The landmine which holds peace back - the civil war in Iraq

Iraq is a Muslim country. Even though their state religion is determined, why are wars always being happened in Iraq? The reason is simple. That is why it is divided into various sects inside Islam. After Muhammad who is founder of Islam died, Islam was divided into Shia Muslims who thinks that only descendants of Muhammad can be the leader of Islam and Sunni Muslims who designated Abu Bakr as the successor who is a friend of Muhammad. It seems a quite deep-rooted conflict because it has happened since Muhammad died in 632. 70% of the 1.6 billion Muslims in the world are Sunni, and the rest 30% are Shia. Countries in which its most people are Sunni are Saudi Arabia, Syria, Pakistan, Egypt and so on. And countries in which its most people are Shia are Iran and Iraq. Even though Shia Muslims are the majority in Iraq, Sunni has been holding authority. Saddam Hussein whom we are familiar with is one of Sunni. After U.S. invasion of Iraq, the Shiite majority began to seize the power, so that the conflict between Sunni and Shia has been exacerbated and it has continued until now.

 

 

With these reasons, the situation can be seen to have been in the current form of dispute through America's war on Iraq and Sykes-Pico Agreement between Britain and France. After Saddam Hussein died, it can be seemed to focus on helping the prime minister seize the power for long term as the Shiites politicians and the U.S. Army took 60 billion dollars that were intended to be used for restoration project.

 

 

 

ISIL (Islamic state of Iraq and the Levant), a militant group is stationed in Al-Karim, the western border town. There were 57 people killed and 120 people injured. ISIL is justifying their evil acts by quoting a passage from Koran. Iraqi civil war seems to become an internal war between the sects as the countries near Iraq are intervening. Will does another international war happen once again?

 

 

Everyone in the world wants a world of peace. We should not break the peace by causing any religious wars. I was thinking that He who gave life to the world really wanted us to continue to cause wars that have no winners and losers just making everyone victimized. If you really want peace, we should try to turn this world back into a world of peace with the one who has the answer that can achieve peace.

About the territorial dispute between China and Vietnam

“What is the real peaceful solution of conflict?"

-about the territorial dispute between China and Vietnam-

In May this year, there were numerous conflicts between China and Vietnam as China established Tension Leg Platforms in Paracel Islands (It is known as 'Hoang Sa' in Vietnamese and 'Xisha island' in Chinese), so Vietnam dispatched lots of ships including armed ships and obstructed their operations.

 

Many analysts think that anti-China feeling in Vietnam which has been formed for 35 years after China-Vietnam war in 1979 reached its climax.

Vietnam and China were companions of communistic revolution in the early 20th century. But since 1969, when Ho Chi Minh died, the diplomatic relations between the two countries has been cracked.

Although communism had once played a role of connecting the two countries, now their relations seem to agree like cats and dogs. They fight with each other and even raise riots arguing that they received the Paracel Islands as a legacy from each ancestor.

 

Though, at last, they agreed with the principle that they try to solve the territorial conflict peacefully on June 18. But they still sticked to their own situations and just confirmed the differences between each opinion about the point. It means that they agreed with the basic principle of solving conflicts but the war is just paused provisionally. The conflict seems to be continued for a considerable time.

 

So, what is the peaceful solution that they want? Even though they were companions once, now they became the enemy criticizing and blaming each other. I'm wondering that any problem could be solved peacefully if people do not back down, and their behaviors and words that they want to solve it peacefully are true. Can really those who don't know what peace is and don't want peace be able to achieve it? I think the one who has the answer that can solve the problem can achieve real peace. I wish and wait for a superman riding a white horse will come and bring about peace to this world.

With thinking of the war on June 25, 1950

 

Today is the 64th anniversary that North Koran broke out 6.25 war.

To protect South korea From North korean invasion, a number of young soldiers and students soldiers shed hot blood. I express sorrow with victims who haven't bloomed and died during the war and their families. I sincerely express their gratitude and respect to soldiers who save our nation for their life.

60 years ago South Korea, the poorest country in whole world, have developed as the economic power of the 15th largest in GDP in the world. On the base of patriotic martyrs' noble sacrifice, South Korea could amazingly make liberal democracy and economic development.

Unfortunately, however, the sad fact is that many people have distorted history of 6.25 war and lived with forgetting the war. So in the 64 anniversary of 6.25 war, we have to try the history and lesson not to be forgotten and focus on realigning our history education system. we have to make efforts of treating with exceptional respect for men of national merit and an excavation of remains project of the war dead.

Most of all, the most important thing is to achieve the beautiful world peace without wars and battles. the blood of those who had never bloomed will not be worthless.

I hope all the people who love and want peace become one mind and achieving the peaceful world without wars.

Attitudes to be kept in mind with watching soccer in Nigeria

 

 

 

We prepare many things to enjoy the World Cup. Things like delicious food, cheering tools, friends to be with, limitless stamina, mind of loving soccer and patriotism. When we watch soccer together, we are cheering with one accord. But, some accidents always happen even in a delightful festival. Moreover, it is common for the kind of accident in that situation to be ignored rather than in normal situation.

 

 

A suicide bomb terror occurred in Damaturu TV public center, north-east Yobe state in the evening of 18, this month. A taxi having bombs came into the public center right after the game between Brazil and Mexico was broadcasted. 14 casualties were dead and 26 people were injured. Most of the victims caused by the accident were children and young men. This makes me so sad. How sudden is this accident to the people who would wait for the soccer game with excited mind in front of the TV? Nigeria local police regarded this accident had been caused by an organization called Boko Haram.

 

 

A terrorist group, Boko Haram is an Islam extremism organization which was organized in 2001. Boko means ‘western non-Islam education’, and Haram means ‘guilt’. So it means ‘Western education style is a guilt.’. As it can be guessed from its meaning, they have committed crimes targeting christians or people who are educated in western style.

 

 

 

It is the group that commits serious crimes like attacking a public girls’ school and kidnapping 276 middle school students in April, and 11 girls early in May. Just few weeks ago, on 3 of June, they attacked a village in Borno which is located in north east in Nigeria and killed its 400-500 residents. Through this accident, it can be sure that this group is really dangerous. By the way, why did they make a terror to the soccer spectators?

 

 

 

Some of Islamists said the reason is that they regard soccer games including the World Cup as an anti-Islam. They think they don’t need to play soccer complying with the rule made by Jewish or Christians. Also, because they regard not only playing but also watching soccer game as the action destroying Islamic mind, they point out people watching the World Cup outside together as a target of terror. So, it seems really dangerous in Nigeria.

 

 

 

World Cup is an international sports festival for all global citizens, transcending race, religion, philosophy, language and culture. Enjoying the World Cup will get better when people have good cheering cultures and fair playing minds.

The 2014 World Cup in Brazil; the world festival for the World Peace

  The 2014 World Cup in Brazil, the largest sport festival in the world, was opened on June 13. This world cup will be played in 12 cities such as Sao Paulo, Curitiba, etc until Juy 14. Its slogan of All in one rhythm stamps Brazil on the country of Samba.  Korea in a group- H will play against Belgium, Russia, Algeria and challenge the top 16. Brazil taking third in FIFA Ranking aims to win playing against Mexico, Cameroon, Croatia in a group- A. Though Brazil have been considered the worst public security in the world from before opening, about 600,000 visitors from all over the world have visited Brazil to enjoy 2014 World Cup.

 

Korean national soccer team has been to qualified for the World Cup in 8 breaks and created the legend of reaching the semifinals at 2002 World Cup. And they advanced the first top 16 in an away match in 2010 South Africa World Cup. This time, the goal of Korean national soccer team is advancing to the quarterfinals first in an away match.

I hope them achieve their goal.    

 

This World Cup will be not only an international soccer competition but also World Festival that realizes the harmony and peace of human beings and transcends nationality, nation, race, language. In the Ivory Coast, Africa losing tens of thousands of lives because of the civil wars, the ardent appeal of a player attending last 2006 World Cup worked marvels that stopping gunshots during that period. After that, a peace treaty was concluded ended the civil war fully, which showed World Cup could contribute to achieve national World Peace and unity.

     

Sports are not wars. Therefore playing pair is much more important than winning.

Though the national soccer players have trained to win in matches, they have to redound to national honor as a member of the national team

  

Now the whole people must have a role of 24th player. We have give our players power and courage with cheering up hard and loud applause. In last 2002 World Cup, we surprised the world with the Korean reserve of force. The reserve of force is the national unity and the power of unity.

       

The disaster of passenger ship caused sadness for our entire country, so an excessive passion about World Cup may be going to create a conflict. It is for us to forger the sadness but to remember and overcome the sadness, also, it is not to cover but to hear and sublimate our sad emotion to our strong power.

   

I hope this 2014 world cup will be a place for festival that the whole nation is united in rooting for the national team. and I also hope it will be that all of us will be able to overcome frustration and loss and revive depression Korean with embers of hope.

MEXICO – the Country with Emerald Seas and Peace, and the Trace of Chairman Man Hee Lee

Mexico is one of the most desirable honeymoon destinations in the world. Mexico is 8 times larger than the size of the Korean Peninsula with various civilizations such as Mayan, Toltec and Aztec civilization, having 27 UNESCO World Heritages. Cancún, the coastal town of Mexico, was once a small fishing village in the 70’s but now it is considered the best vacation spot internationally, having about 4 million visitors every year. Cancún, which is ‘the nest of snakes’ in Mayan language, is especially popular in America because it is possible to directly fly from America to Cancún. The emerald seas, find sandy beach, and the picturesque hotels – Cancún is full of factors to be called the best vacation spot especially for honeymoon.

Here is a city I want to recommend you to visit if you have a chance to go Mexico aside from Cancún. It is Veracruz. Veracruz is the eastern end of Mexico and the first land which Hernan Corteś, a Spanish conqueror, set foot on in Mexico. It is famous for Cafe de leche, that is café latte. Besides, it has a full-fledged fish market so that it is good to enjoy fresh seafood dishes.

Aside from the superb landscape and delicious food, there is something to feel proud as a Korean in Veracruz. It is the fact that Man Hee Lee who is the chairman of Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (“HWPL”) also began the peace movement in Mexico and he was given such passionate support from the Mexican people. On May 20, Man Hee Lee and his group were credited with the peace movement in Mexico and awarded a letter of appreciation and a medal from the mayor of Veracruz. About 28 presses widely reported this. In addition, Peace Seminar and Peace Agreement Ceremony ended in great success at the Christopher Columbus University of Veracruz, Mexico and Technological Institute of Boca del Rio on May 22.

Man Hee Lee, the chairman of HWPL, has visited 44 countries and delivered the message of peace to the whole world since 2012. And now he takes the lead of peace in Mexico. I am looking forward to how peace will be brought to this country.

Namwon Chunhyang Festival, 'Love story is colored with Namwon

Namwon Chunhyang Festival, 'Love story is colored with Namwon'(June 12~17)

Namwon Chunhyang Festival, 'Love story is colored with Namwon which was postponed due to the disaster of Sinking of the MV Sewol, come to an end today. It could have been cancelled on account of Sinking of the MV Sewol, but Chunhyang Festival that reached their 84th anniversary opened one month later.

   Performance for celebration in the first part of its first day is started with admiring the souls of victims of Sinking of the MV Sewol. This festival was chosen as 2014 Representative Performance Art Festival by Ministry of Culture, so it arranged art performances such as opera gala show, Chunhyangjeon which is Korean traditional opera, and Chunhyangga sung    in duet to attract audiences. 

 
Although Highlight of this festival is carried out from 12th to 17th is absolutely Miss Chunhyang Beauty Pageant, it provokes controversy every year. The organizers and audiences should not forget that Chunhyang Festival is for honoring Chunhyang's noble mind of love. Every event in Chunhyang Fesitival is proceeded at Namwon Gwanghallu, it is opened for free in the duration of the festival. Also, In this period, specialties of Imsil and Namwon were sold and there were the places for experiencing crafts, food items marketplace and auto camping place in Yocheon riverside, so families can enjoy this festival and camping. Although I live in where that's not too far from Namwon, I couldn't go to there in duration of the festival. Especially, there were so many various exciting programs this year. But I've already missed it, so I really want and decided to visit Namwon next year. This traditional festival has been lasted for a long time. And I want it to be developed to a good festival that everyone wants to come every year!

  

Namwon is not the place just for Chunhyang Festival but also for a variety of festivals and attractions. The simplest explanation is that there are Herb Festival opened in Herb Valley, Royal Azaleas of Baraebong Peak Festival apart from Gwanghallu. Unfortunately, Royal Azaleas of Baraebong Peak Festival is at term, but various herbs are waiting for a number of people’s visit now in season in Herb Valley. I went to Herb Valley two times, and it was decorated charmingly for families to hang out, take pictures and have a rest. Two years ago, It was impressive and memorable that I passed a red flower (like poppy) garden on the road of Herb Valley. I think it is a good idea to soothe inconvenience that you could not see Chunhyang Festival by visiting Herb Valley before the end of June, confirming whether the flower garden exists or not. 

I recommend you to make your mouth be pleasant by eating famous food ‘chueotang’ in Namwon, if you satisfied your eyes with attractions. I desire to introduce just one famous restaurant, but chueotang in all restaurants where I have been to was tasty. By the way, it is a trap that I enjoy every food.

I become happy when I think about many delicious food as well as Chunhyang Festival. Today is the last day of the festival, and there will be a recording of a famous TV program 'Singing Contest all around the country'. I'm getting sweet smile automatically when I think about the program's MC, Mr. Song (Hae Song) who is always smiling and saying 'Singing Contest all around the country~!’.
