3 types of good soccer balls that we’ve never seen before.

Sport is a fun game that everybody can enjoy regardless of his age or sex.  Soccer is very popular sport among them. When children gather, we can see them playing soccer easily. Playing soccer  is a very common sight in any country. So this time, I want to write an interesting story related to soccer balls.  It is about 3 types of good soccer balls which   are useful for people in trouble by good idea.

    1. socket

This soccer ball is famous because it was taken picture with president Obama of America. This good soccer ball Socket is designed for the people where live in the shortage of power.  If you kick the ball, then the electricity is charged.  The kinetic energy of soccer ball changed into the electric power energy, when they play with the ball, and the battery in the ball is charged. It seems amazing that you can read books with the lamp connected with the soccer ball after fun playing with the ball

    2. football tape

This soccer ball is just tape, patterned soccer ball.  If you roll it, you can make a realistic soccer ball and the size can be controlled. You can make a soccer ball for children or a toy for puppies.  If you tape a bulk of box for relief goods, people can gather and collect  the tapes to make a big soccer ball. They can fill in with the tapes inside the ball and make it heavy or they wrap up outside the ball in order to make it strong.  Personally, I think if they combine dream ball project with soccer ball, then stronger ball can be made.  .

    3. FUTBOL

This ball never blow up.  This soccer ball is made for donation.  It is made of non-toxic, inactive material.  It doesn’t need pump and never blow up.  Even upon the big impact, it restores to its original shapes.  That makes me extremely curious about its material and how it works. It is inspired by the children’s soccer play with waste in a refugee camp. One world Futbol Project is 1+1contribution project, that is,  if anyone buys 1 futbol, then one more futbol is given to the children through the non-profit organization. I heard that annually  20 million of soccer ball that broke out is piled up like a rubbish heap in Africa.  Futbol is a strong and permanent ball.  That is a good point to reduce waste.   I name it another good soccer ball!

How would they feel when a child smokes?

     smoking kid

adults know that smoking is harmful, but don't remind themselves of this fact.
how would they feel when a child smokes?

    "Can i get a light?"
    "Really?"
    "No. you're too young."
"They drill a hole in your throat for cancer. Aren't you afraid of surgery?"
    "Cigarettes contain poison."
"You look old when you smoke."
Every adult filmed reminded the children that smoking ie bad.
"If you smoke you die faster. Don't you want to live and play?"
"You know it's bad right? Smoking causes lung cancer and emphysema."
But did they forget something themselves?
"If it's so bad, why are you smoking?"

-You worry about me. But why not about yourself? -

    Hurricane Gonzalo

After Hurricane Gonzalo passed through Bermuda, the flight of 20 biggest carriers were all cancelled from the Heathrow International Airport, London, due to heavy rain and high winds.  The gusts up to 75mph in coastal area caused travel disruption including airplane. They said that it was calm night before it hit Bermuda, when the storm’s  eye  reached on Bermuda. A state of calm before storm!  Hurricane Gonzalo with high winds hit Bermuda on 18th caused power cuts to  31200 homes.  It carried with the floods and  tidal waves, but minor injuries were reported up to now.

In this earth where we live, there are places where damaged by Hurricane and many people are uneasy with a power blackout.  In some places, people suffered from the war day and night.  Yet, in other place, calm like a night before a storm although thousands of people die from hunger in the opposite side of the earth.  These all happen in this earth where we live.  How about the place where I live? Indeed, nobody can predict how long this calmness will last. A few days ago, gun battles  took place in Military Demarcation Line on Korean Peninsula.  I feel I am in a pressure cooker in fear of outbreak of war  in one day.   I do hope to live in a secure and peaceful world day by day.

    Up-cycled telephone booth

    Up-cycled telephone booth.
As cell phones have became popular, there are something that are being forgotten to us. It is a (tele)phone booth. The last time I used a public phone was 15 years ago. the phone booth which is now a distance memory and useless wasn’t thrown away, but became up-cycle specially. I will share good examples with you.

    1. Mini lending library.

A architect who proceeded with town improvement project up-cycled old phone booth into library for local residents. The way to use it is that passing people freely choose books that they want to read or people who have books they have already read  put them on as a way of donating.

    2. Up- cycled aquarium.

Design students at Tokyo university of the arts turned metal phone booth into a public aquarium which is filled with goldfish.

    3. ATM – Up-cycled automated teller machine

British Telecommunications are giving the red booths are in Swindon, Northampton, and slough a second life  as ATM.

    4. Shelter for the homeless

Contexture Design based on Vancouver provide up-cycled phone booth for a shelter for the homeless where they can take a rest for a while, take shelter from the rain , read books, and call someone.

    5.  public shower stall.

The old phone booth at Leverick Bay in Virgin Island, British turned into a shower stall that people can take a shower after swimming.

    6. Out door toilet

It is a outdoor toilet in Finland. Thanks to the part of face being located is almost translate ,while  taking a dump, people can appreciate great scenery. (To use it , you need brave.)

    7. Defibrillator in disused red phone box.

BT (British Telecom) is putting the red phone box at the heart of rural communities again. It is funding the installation of defibrillator equipment, which can help save the lives of cardiac arrest victims, into five decommissioned red phone boxes adopted by rural communities.

In addition to them, there are many up-cycled phone booths. The most important thing is the shelter for the homeless.
It seems that thoughtful minds for the underprivileged people around us make our heart warm and happy.
Because of the reason that phone booths are not useful any more, they have been demolished in my country. I hope they will be changed into the things which give hope for people in need.

    Skateboard made of a net

    Do you like skateboard?
The skateboard I will introduce today is a little special.
This skateboard made of the nets that were thrown away into sea.

Seriously polluted, marine ecosystem in coastline of Chile has a problem with abandoned nets which are called ghost net.
The coastline of Chile is over 4000 miles and is one of the longest coastlines in the world.
Not only the amount of nets is large, but also there are hundreds of tons of the abandoned nets. The abandoned are threatening marine mammals and ecosystem and they account for 10% of plastic pollutant of sea.

Ben, David and Kevin who have passion for sea environment, are trying to find the solution through sustainable products.
Researching the plastic which makes sea polluted, they found that the abandoned nets are countless. After studying this matter, they also found this substance is durable and likely to be recycled.
So Ben, David and Kevin decided to make skateboards with these abandoned nets.
They collected the nets more than 3,000kg for 6 months. And after making them into plastic raw materials, they made skateboards with pouring the materials into molds.
The body of skateboard has a good feeling to grip and a fish pattern which is the icon of sea. The wheels are made from 30% of vegetable oil and 100% of recycling cores. In addition, there is no need to worry about loss because it has a lock function with a hook.
Fund-raising through social funding ‘kickstarter for these skateboards is over their target amount, $25000, which is twice as much of the target’ and they started production. The profits not only are used for production, but also support the community near the sea and find solutions for marine ecosystem.

Every year, about 7 billion kilogram of plastic trashes flows to sea. Being aware of this serious problem, Ben, David and Kevin made their own interesting solution.

    Sharpen your pencil

Amnesty International encourages Letter Writing Marathon movement with a print advertisement copy called “Sharpen your pencil” every year.
If you look at the picture, there are pencils that show printed pictures of victims who suffer from violence and abuse.
It is impressive to express the point that the pain of people who are outside of human rights will go away when pencils are cut in order to use them.
On December 10th, Armnesty International continues a world sized campaign which is “Letter Writing Marathon” to celebrate every year.
With petitions from all over the world, they carry on the voices of people and it requires patience and effort like marathon. The letters can be huge support for the people who are away from human rights as much as its weight and length.

The beginning of Letter Writing Marathon

Two youths in Portugal were prisoned because they toasted for freedom
Members of Amnesty International had sent petitions voluntarily and this became the foundation of ‘Letter Writing Marathon’.
An idea of ‘Letter Writing Marathon’ is from traditional letter wiring which has been continued since 1961, and members in Poland suggest the idea in 2003. Now, more than a million of letters from over 50 countries are sent.

Participate in miracle of a letter with Amnesty International

Working on 3 ways that promise a letter, act online and participate in letter night will be a big help for people whose human rights are violated.
I would like to be part of it as well. I think this would be a way to support the human right and people who have been in pain will be able to recover the right as there are many people who work for it.

The most beautiful tree tunnels in the world

    .
When could we believe the existence of God?
Many people give a testimony like a movie about reviving miraculously. But when we look at beautiful sceneries, we may realize the actual existence of God. When you see the beautiful landscape of the natural phenomenon that can’t be created with the power of man, we admire the workmanship of God who created everything at last. Although people planted and cultivated the wooden tunnels artificially, we admire that this is also the workmanship of God when we see them. We don’t create life, we just planted them.

Today, I would like to introduce awesome tree tunnels with the sunlight and wind coming through branches.

    1. 'The Dark Hedges' in Northern Ireland (The Dark Hedges in Northern Ireland)
Beech Road made by Stewart Family in 1750
It became a world-class tourist attraction as forest grew larger. It is also famous for the filming location of "Game of Thrones".

    2. Cherry road in Bonn, Germany (street in Bonn, Germany)
An attraction of spring, Heerstraße cherry road in Bonn, Germany

    3. Oak alley along the Mississippi river, U.S.A

    4. Jacarandas walk in South Africa
Pretoria, the administrative capital in South Africa is referred to as 'the Jacaranda City' because there had been planted 70,000 jacarandas.

5 Tunnel of Love in Ukraine (Tunnel of Love in Ukraine)
There is a place with legend if couples go to this forest trails by train and make their wishes, it comes true.
Wish of couples.. would be the one that we’ve all known. ^.-*

    6. Street in Jerez in Jerez De La Frontera, Spain
Narrow path in the alley of wine shops in Jerez De La Frontera, Spain

    7. maple tunnel in St. Louis, Oregon, U.S.A
This is a maple forest road in St. Louis, Oregon, United States.
Korea is in autumn now so that the trees would turn red soon like the picture below.

    8. Tree Tunnel in Netherlands
Like walking through the road of life, it is an infinitely long, majestic tree tunnel.

I listed tunnels that stick in my mind for long and I’d really like to go later. I want to recommend these tunnels to those who can afford or want to go on a trip to countries in the pictures. If you’ve been there, I’d like to hear what you feel. 

    Words kill wars 2

    " Words kill wars "

"Words kill wars " This is an advertisement from Adot.
The advertisement is intended to 'settle the recent Crimea issue peacefully', which is the print ad created for the peaceful relations of Ukraine and Russia.
What a simple ad with no special tricks and clear statement.
It's very simple but they can touch my heart.

    " Words kill wars."
There are many people who want peace in this world. I am one of those, too.
When we think of peace, we think something tremendous.
However, peace is much closer than you think.
Don’t you want to participate in the dialogue of peace?
Adot says, "Although individuals have no power, if they are united together as one, they can bring themselves to world peace with a greater force".
If we don’t speak out, nothing happens. It is words that have the power to change our or some one else’s life, and even the world. Otherwise, when we just think about peace with no speaking out, this world does not change at all.
Why don’t we speak out loudly with courage?
Our language also can end the war and create the world of peace we long for.

"I support peace like Adot, like Pope Francis and like Representative Lee Manhee . "

“Uber”- Convenient Service for Travelling Seoul, Korea

Have you ever got lost in Seoul?
Or have you ever been late, not being able to take a taxi or get on a bus?
There is a service for those people.

    That is Uber. .
It is well-known for advanced IT technology which combines the latest IT tech with transportation.

    Then, what is Uber?
To explain it easily, it is application for call-taxi. People had to call the taxi company for a cab. Now that people can just download Uber application and call the nearest cars.

It is easy and simple to use.
Users need to put their name, email and credit card information, and then there will be available limousines on the map.

If you click it, you will be able to see the driver, kind of vehicle and review from Uber users.
Based on information, user can call it and the car will be ready to your location.
When the user is not at the destination, they will send you a message to let you find the car easily.
Uber is different from other limousine companies.
The driver will take you to the destination. It is the same as the call-taxi service.
Payment for Uber is also different. When you arrive to the destination, people normally pay with cash or card to drivers. Registered card on Uber application is paid through IAP (In-App-Payment).
So, users don’t have to pay in cash or credit card to the driver.

There are many more convenient advantages.
Uber user can check the location all the time and share it with families or friends.
All limousines which provide Uber service has own registered number, so anyone can locate the Limousine with this number.
It will be reassuring when you put your friends or coworkers at night. Also, the person who pays for it doesn’t have to be in the limousine since it is paid automatically through the application.
It is useful when someone has to pay by corporate credit card.

Besides, people can use it even when users are nearly impossible to get a taxi because of bad weather, the end-of the year and so on.
The reason is simple. They use peak-time price that the cost will depend on distance with high demand and the cost will go down with high supply.
The driver will get incentives when they are on service with high demand. It enables the company to have enough limousines.

The price is higher than normal taxies. It is 1.5 times more expensive. If you can use a cab in 20,000 won, you will have to pay 30,000 by using Uber.
Though, it is not that expensive considering that you can take a sedan and it will come to you wherever you are.
It will be just like taking deluxe taxi.

Now you know the way of using Uber, you don’t have to worry about transportation and enjoy your time in Seoul. :)

Attitude that every press in the world needs to have - Mr. and Mrs. Taylor’s ‘Dilkusha'

2-17, Sajikro, Jongrogu, Seoul, South Korea
This house was obviously built in American style.
The name of the two-story house is ‘Dilkusha' which was built with red bricks in 1923.
The word is originally in Sanskrit and read as ‘Dilkusha' in English.
This word means palace of hope, happy mind and utopia.
Who built a house with this name?

This house is Mr. and Mrs. Taylor’s house.
Albert W. Taylor who is an American came to Joseon with his father, George Taylor, in 1896.
After that, he had worked as a UPA correspondent in Seoul and helped Joseon for its independence by letting the whole world know Japan’s atrocities.
He found the Korean Declaration of Independence which was hidden by a nurse who helped a birth of his son, and sent it to Tokyo by hiding under the heel of his brother’s shoe.
This was the chance to let the world know about it through an article.

Also, he was the one who discovered the Jeamri incident while he was on the move with missionaries on April 17th, 1919.
The Jeamri incident which happened in April 15th, 1919 is that Japan killed civilians after nationwide 3.1 movement.
Because of these activities, he was on the blacklist of Japan and was sentenced 6 months in prison in 1941. His wife, Mary who helped Joseon people along with his husband was sentenced under house arrest.
After getting out of prison, they were deported to the USA.

“If I die somewhere not in Korea, bring my ash to Korea and bury there.”
According to his will, he who died in 1948 was buried in Korea with his father.

Even though Korea wasn’t their country, they fought with their lives.
With their sacrifice, we could broadcast the damage of war in the third person’s point of view.

The efforts the Taylor’s had made for peace showed us how the press should be.
‘Dilkusha' which is the palace of hope and where the Taylor used to live
What would the appearance of Korea that they hoped for?
Does Korea.., does the world live in utopia?
What is true peace and what the press should do? That’s what we need to think about once more.

The story of people in need to be protected, “Save the Children.”

Nowadays, Israeli-Palestinian conflict in Gaza strip is drawing heavy attention from worldwide presses. Korean media also reports what is happening in Gaza strip day after day. Actually, I don’t wonder whatever causes the conflict. No matter what the reason is, war is the worst option because it makes innocent people sacrificed and killed. There is nothing more precious than life. Especially, victims in war are the weakest people who are not able to flee from the war due to the lack of money, who are caught because of their uncomfortable body, who are weak women and so on..
Among these, what makes me feel heartbroken the most is children.
That’s why the selfishness of adults has caused wars and it has deprived the children’s naïve smiles and hope.
Now, we need to think how far the distance is between war and a life filled with peace in children’s shoes.

    This is the first poster.
A boy is playing with a gun, another is fishing. The boy with a gun seems quite serious and militant to say that is a toy-gun,
    What is he aiming at?

There are people submerged under water due to the flood on the one side. On contrast, there are people playing in the water on the other side.

    This is the last poser.
On both sides, people are running.
People on the left side are desperately running in order to save their lives.
However, it seems that a person on the right side is jogging and she looks leisurely.

When we look into each poster image of children, all of them are aimed to show the same thing.
    Children are playing.
    People are swimming.
    People are running.

They are doing same things. But, the environment around them is quite opposite.
Why do they seem different although they do the same?
We should think on our own what the reason is and who has to be responsible for.
This is an advertisement of the story of people in need to be protected,” Save the Children”.

    Global peace activist

When I was surfing the internet, I saw the news about peace agreement in Mindanao, the Philippines, which had lasted for 40 years, by a messenger of peace who has traveled around the world 10 times.

The messenger of peace who has traveled the world 10 times?

I might be exhausted by just one flight, but who is this man?

And I know well about Mindanao. That is the territory where there are constant wars and conflicts.

However, how was it possible to get a peace agreement and end the wars in that island Mindanao? I was starting to wonder about him.

Korea is separated by North Korea and South Korea. So there are many adults who desire unification. But, on the other hand, students usually have no interest in unification.

What was worse is that there are some children who don’t know the fact that North and South Korea belong to the same nation originally.

I think Korea will be a country that has big power in the global world, if Korea achieves to be unified. But some people are against to be unified.

I really want Korea to be a peace country that has no relevance to war anymore.

While thinking about peace I tried to find activists who have given their effort to peace.

I hope he leads Korea’s unification like President Lincoln who led the America’s Unification.

And I want Korea to be a boastful nation that can finally achieve reunification.

    World peace-Taste of Cuba, Mojito

<A sweltering polar bear in the zoo>

Despite the rainy season, it doesnt rain and hot and stuffy weather is continued. Discomfort index is quite high because of humid weather. So I keep drinking a lot of water and americano in a day, but it cannot quench my thirst.
I really want to drink a fresh and cool glass of mojito in such a hot weather.
It is well known for a Cuban traditional cocktail. Hemingway also enjoyed drinking the mojito while writing The Old Man and The Sea. I miss the mojito that I didnt drink all up at an amazing restaurant on last Sunday. Why I left that mojito!?

Im wondering how you are doing in this hot summer. Im not afraid of summer because I have a mojito.
Not long ago, I made a fantastic mojito with my younger brother to cool down this summer.
Now, we are really into mojitos taste. Even though It isnt been a long time to get to know about mojito, we are fascinated by its taste after a drop of it. Mojito is a revolution of the area of summer beverages!
My brother and I surely prepared apple mint and fresh lime for making mojito at home, and we also prepared other necessary materials that mentioned in the Internet recipe. My brother even bought cups for mojito as many as number of our family members.

When we finally start making the mojito in 2 weeks, we were so enjoyed until cutting the fresh lime. But just then, I got a trouble with an allergy to apple mint! Actually I have a hair-allergy, but in that day, I was so delighted so I couldnt think of it. I just grabbed the leaves of apple mint with my two hands and washed them clearly. Just at the moment, symptom of allergy was coming up to my tips of all fingers. It was like pricking. So, in the day all night I suffered from the pain like stabbed by invisible thorns. Furthermore, the taste of mojito that we made was not as good as I expected even though I sacrificed my fingers!! So, after tasting it, I decided. I will never make a mojito at home never ever. I guess I may have another talent, but not cooking. Anyway, I am very good at eating. lol

    <a glass of Mojito>

    How to Make Mojito
    1. Slightly crush 6~7 slices (it is up to your preference) of apple mint.
    2. Slightly crush 1/4 of lime (it is up to your preference).
    3. Put crushed apple mint and lime into a same glass and add some syrup, then mix it!.
    4. At last, Put sparkling water, ice, sliced 2 pieces of lime and stir it. And it will become a delicious mojito. Now drink it!

Mojito is a cocktail, so it needs alcohol. But I failed to adjust how much it needs alcohol, so, it tasted horrible. However, I blamed my brother based on that he bought strong liquor and asserted it is not my fault. Sorry~ my brother~. It was fun making Mojito with my brother in this summer. It became a cherishable memory to me.
How about not only staying under the air conditioner but also cooling down with a glass of fresh mojito?
