Umbrella Revolution - Hong Kong

I didn’t know much about it these days, but it seems that many big accidents have occurred in the world. Recently, a large scale demonstration which even young students participated in broke out.

Hong Kong’s citizens who desired for complete free direct election system against intervention of election of Hong Kong’s chief executive collided with Chinese government.  It was named ‘Umbrella Revolution’ since citizens blocked teargas with their umbrella.


Umbrella Revolution gathered the maximum 60,000 people as it was the largest scale challenge after Hong Kong’s return to China in 1997. This situation tested ‘one country, two systems’ which was Hong Kong’s governing principle and plan for unification with Taiwan. Deng Xiaoping achieved returning Hong Kong to China from United Kingdom by suggesting ‘one country, two systems’ which guaranteed Hong Kong’s high autonomy and economic freedom. However, Hong Kong citizens opposed and protested since China limited candidates for minister of administration to celebrity who gained a majority vote from pro-Chinese Electoral College.

He established middle and high school student activist groups and took on representative at the age of 15 in 2012. Also, he led this demonstration and stood shoulder to shoulder with university students and representatives of citizen organizations.  He attracted voluntary participation from citizens and students, saying “I don’t want to see elementary students protesting for Hong Kong’s democracy after 10 years.  It is our responsibility.” Some people are concerned about probability for it to develop into the small scale Tiananmen Square protest.

I hope that this protest could be settled peacefully as young students participate for reaching democracy.

Elephants suffered from imprisonment and assault in India for 50 years were released with the help of charity. Elephant who is called 'Raju" felt the freedom, then he was touched and burst into tears of joy. Elephants can cry, play, laugh, and also even can form lifelong relationships. They are very highly intelligent and social animals.

Although they can’t speak as human beings do and also can’t be clever than humans, they are the member of the earth living with people. However, too many elephants are abused or dying due to ivory poaching by people who are greedy and worse than beast.

 Earlier this year, Guangdong Province in China showed a willingness for protection of wildlife poaching and smuggling crackdown by confiscating ivory from smugglers and scraping its total amount. Nevertheless, the 60-90% supply of the ivory in Africa inflows into China, the largest consuming country in the world, via Hong-Kong or other countries.

Ornaments made ​​of ivory in China has traditionally been called the 'white gold' and represents a symbol of wealth. In addition, there is a myth that blocks bad luck. So, giving ivory as a gift has become very popular. Due to this, the price of ivory in China was increased three times from $ 750 per 1kg in 2010 to $ 2,100 in this year, but its popularity is continuing.

 Moreover, the price of ivory in China is more expensive 10 times than the price in local Africa. Then, the rebels and crime organizations like some forces which are linked with Al-Qaeda in Somalia are going to poach elephants on a large scale aiming massive profiteering. So, that kind of groups can be the way to giving the aid with money. As a result, too many elephants are becoming dead and they are now endangered. It is a problem that it's not easy to cut elephant's ivory, so ivory poachers kill elephants to gain that. According to NGO reports, if poaching is being continued like now, 20 percent of African elephants must be gone within 10 years.

Since few years ago, Poaching elephant's ivory has become an international problem. So now, the number is slightly getting reduced. However, if consumer markets exist, poaching will not come to an end. At the same time, the forces that want taking advantages will continue to expand their own power and to cause disputes, conflicts, violence, murders, and other atrocities with the international community.

Although the cost of destroying lives eventually returns to humans, terrible things are going on all over the world due to the selfishness of human beings, such as destruction of life and catastrophes leading to death even now. I hope that all we do not seek only the interests at the moment, but also widen far more their eyes to look at the world. For leaving life, safety, and peace to the next generation, I hope that all we have more interests in the world where we live, and also I hope everyone practices love and sharing.

What would the image of Korea be for the people from abroad?

 

Would the people who are in Japan, China, Rusia, and the other countries opposite side of Korea be interested in it?
  

In the past, Korean used to be remembered for some of its dishes like Kimchi, Bibimbap and Bulgogi. And now, with the wind of Korean wave, it began to be remembered for celebrities, i-dol, K-pop, dramas, and etc.

 

On the other hand, its image is not always nice because it has been divided into two parts historically. It is remained as the only one county which has not yet unified in the world. 

 

In case of breaking out the war, both sides of Korea spend lots of money every year and have people join the armies to prepare for it. 

 

Korea is, unfortunately, a divided nation and in the condition of an armistice.

 

That is a Korea's sad image. However, I expect to blow new wind after overcoming this pain. 

 

New wind is blowing with news and articles from different countries around the world. It is about the news of Manhee Lee, a peace activist. 

 

A man who is standing as a prime mover for the peace agreement, he is a Korean, called Manhee Lee.

He has been traveled lots of countries to meet presidents, politicions, reporters and religious leaders to bring peace in the world. Many of them agreed his idea and decided to work with him by signing the witten agreement of peace.

Recently, he visited Guatemala and had an opportunity to lay a white rose on the Palm of Peace! That was a great honor in the country and actually he was the second person who did it from Korea after UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon. Also, he received the letter of appreciation from the government of Guatemala.

How could he do such a nice work that anyone has never done before?

He is saying this peace work is not just his idea but God's. So he says those successful results are not his but God's.

What would that mean?
I thought of what he mentioned over and over to understand and became to know his point. If there is God, he must long to have peace in the world. That would be God's wish and disire who created the world.

Interestingly, his name means  the full of light. Can he bring the real light to the world? I hope so. 

 

I hope that the wind of peace from overseas blows to my country, Korea, so that we can end war, and live in peaceful Korea.

At the roman parliament ICD international conference, He appealed "we must leave the world without the war as a heritage to the descendant " and signed the peace agreement with ex- president and the incumbent president of 10 countries in centural and south america , the eastern europe.

that day, he explained the producing moves of 35days in order to accomplish the world peace at the press conference when returning to his country. He also emphasized that no more pain should exist in the world.

he also exclaimed that world could be the end of the war and be the world of peace through the conversation. He said "Occurring disputes was the repetitious action of wrong history, therefore, we should not behave do that". He was afraid that there have been disputes ,discord and a touch-and-go situation for a long time. He said "he had the materials of method to cease war and the settle of the word peace." and explained it to be the basic cause of abroad world peace movement.

According to his explanation, it is only heavenly culture to accomplish peace movement. By the culture which is made from the GOD's will, the world would be peace. In order to achieve peace into a global village, he propose a role which all social standings , the president of various countries , women, youth and the media ,have to do for it.

Lee man hee representative referred to the korean history suffered many other damages from all of the aggression toward our own people and said "(for the world peace and the end of the war) our korean national spirits must be united at one", and asked back "What must we leave and take the lead for the next generation ?"

He said that for the peace, he would visit to america, china and north korea at last" and Once again he emphasized that "he would visit them in ordet to the end of the war"

Also "he will go and say what is to be said" and emphasized the leaders of the two korea must take part in a meeting at the same place. "who seems to make the reunification of north and south?" and he said "we must accomplish it" If it will not be like that, how much resentment do the politicians hear today ? he raised his voices. toward the religious circles in our country, "Religious people in the world got together and was one for the peace " therefore we must be one too.

We must stop to think like this "your religion is bad and my religion is good." he emphasized once again.

Kim nam hee, International women's peace group representative, took part in this perform, "the progress for the peace was announced all over the country, so many religious leaders came in crowds for taking part in it ", "an islam leader wanted to invite him to mosk for sending a peace message "

including Hans Modrow who was the prime minister of a former East German , the eastern europe and 10countries in centural and south america, 12 ex-president and the incumbent president expressed their intent to take part in the world peace movement and they signed the peace agreement.

　

Lee man hee representative was a korean war veteran as the age of 84. He went round the earth 9times through last 3years. he ask various countries presidents to insert the provision the end of the war in international law for the world peace. He made the sign of world peace agreement with ex-president and the incumbent president and leaders and because of it, he became the topic of a talk all over the world.

January of this year, he accomplished the private signing of a peace agreement which ended the each religious conflicts in philippines' mindanao because of it, all around the world took attention about it.

The offical of heavenly culture, world peace and restoration of light said that

the leaders of all over the world were impressed by his sincerity sending a peace message and they signed the agreement in order to settle the world peace with him.

It was the foundation which would be bitter experience for him to enter the korean war .

An advertising company in Austrailia made the flags of the participating countries by each country's traditional food in order to promote this even.
It is interesting project to introduce each country's food and the countries.
